28JunThe one where it’s action packed and funfilled.

Yesterday I was kid-free.  The boys were picked up early to head off to a get together at an Aunt/Uncle’s.  But because I had to work til 2:30 and I wasn’t exactly sure how to get there, I didn’t go.  Gary readjusted his day to work from 8 to 8 and it was just a night for myself.

I did go see _The Hangover_.  Funny stuff.  And the fireworks.

Today we went to a beach over in Indiana.  It was nice… warm but windy.

It’s not perfect; the one cue I used- the kid moved. Then in the sun it was hard to see the 3rd cue to line up my image.  But it works.

Here is where the kids went swimming.  They’re in there somewhere.  I was having troubles with my phone saving to the memory stick.  I’m going to attempt to reformat it now.  I’m not sure what’s up with it.  The music played just fine.  I can take pictures and save them to the phone then move them to the memory stick, but it won’t take and save to the memory stick.  Frustrating.

As we where leaving, Brandon discovered he’d lost his tooth. He had no idea when or where he lost it. He was wearing a snorkel, and we think in his numerous attempts removing it, he might’ve lost it then.  But he did.  Here is a proud photo of him toothless on his very first lost tooth!  His other bottom tooth is now loose too.

25JunAnother day… that won’t be forgotten.

I’m still in disbelief that Michael Jackson is dead.  It’s one of those sudden moments that probably won’t be shaken until after several days from now.

The other day while at the park, I discovered my camera phone can do panoramics.  How neat!

(Not the best, but my first attempt.)

Then today, some Thunderheads in the East produced a wondrous show in the sky.  I grabbed these while we were out.

This is the ginormous ThunderHead that was in the East.  It has yet to produce any significant storms.  Yet, it was still a marvelous beauty within the sky.

The boys and I are extremely addicted to Plants vs. Zombies. This is a very cute strategy game that’s kid friendly and fun.  As you can see from the image, the zombies are very kid friendly in appearance and it’s in no way violent.  The kids play this with easy and excitement.

There is one zombie that is Michael Jackson _Thriller_ like.  A zombie, dressed in a black/red suit, with black hair and he’ll “Zombie Dance” over graves, raising additional disco dancers to your garden’s doom.  Liam has just recently reached this level.  He has no problem with these zombies.   Today, with recent Michael Jackson news, he watched the real _Thriller_ video and was scared.  He is probably the only sole person on the face of this earth to dislike _Thriller_.  He said it creeped him out.  Even after we explained they were just dancers in costume dancing around.  He still doesn’t like the song.  (Even without the visual video.)

21JunThis one goes out to all the Father’s. At least the ones in my family.

Today we spent the majority of the day over at the in-law’s.  There was fun, there was food, and there was family.  There was also LadderBall.  This unique game is played like Horse Shoes, but not as easy as you think.  Liam, Brandon, Gary and John all seemed to get in a little play.

And because pictures speak louder than words, there you have it.  Plus they’re easier to type in than to stop and think about what to type. :)   Enjoy.  I hope the weather’s nice tomorrow.  I want to go to the pool.

21JunHe claims he’s stuck

I took the boys to the park this evening.  They managed to group up with various kids, playing “war”, “treasure hunt” and “super heros”.  They even managed some recreational sporting with Basket Ball and Hide-n-Seek.  I kept an eye out whilst listening to some music and attempting some Sudoku.

Afterward, we headed off to the grocery store for some dinner. Liam suggested “fish that’s shaped like fingers, but look like chicken nuggets” (Fishsticks). He couldn’t remember the name.  Brandon wanted the “Long rectangles that come in a box”… as he was pointing to the pizzas.  (Pizza Rolls).  And when I said that, he goes:  “Why can’t I ever remember what they’re called!?  Pizza Rolls!  Yea, I want them!”

Times like this, I never want the kids to grow up.

20JunThe one where I pat myself on the back.

The downtown parade should be today, as far as I’m aware.  I’m not entirely sure what the plans are for today, so I’m not sure if we’ll be attending.  But with recent events in our community, I was surprised to learn how much Brandon has taken in.  The following conversation just took place:

B: Mom…
(Me, I’m doing something)
B: Mom… MOM!
Me: What?
B: Is today the parade?
Me: Yes
B: Is this the one where they throw candy?
Me: Yes
(Few min laps..)
B: Mom.. we … We can’t take it.  They’re strangers.  We aren’t allowed to take candy from strangers.
(When I realize what he was talking about… my heart melted.  For the moment, I was a little taken back and not sure how to quite respond.  Yes.  He was right.  He’s not allowed to take candy from Strangers.  But how do I say it’s “OKay” and not confuse him on what he’s just learned.)
Me: Yes, Brandon  you’re absolutely right.  You’re not allowed to take candy from strangers.  But this time it will be okay.  You can take candy when Mommy says it’ll be okay.  But that’s the only time.

I’m still surprised and a little unsure on if he truly understands that.  The fact that he mentioned it, informing me,  amazes me.  For the most part I myself don’t give Brandon enough credit.  I shouldn’t do that.  This boy is smarter than ANYone gives him credit for.  He’s a genius.  But I don’t think he himself realizes that.

20JunNice!

I can upgrade via my dashboard to the lastest version of wordpress.  No more having to do it the geeky hard way, at the same time crossing my fingers hoping and praying everything upgrades successfully.  It kind of does it for me.  Me likey.

19JunTuesday and wham, the weekend

The jubilee is back in town.  We went Tues night as it was kids/wrist band night.  The boys being over 48 inches, got to ride pretty much any ride they wanted.  And they did too.

A tribute to Uncle Jeffy and his trip to the Swings at Geauga Lake by you.
So here you see Brandon on the swings.  He’s fifth from the left.  I entitle this: “A tribute to Uncle Jeffy and his trip to Geauga Lake”.  When we were little, we took a shop picnic to Geauga Lake with our uncle and cousins.  Great trip.  Even learned that Dad and Uncle Mike shopped for the same exact shoes!  No joke.  But during this particular trip, my brother was talked into riding the Giant Swings with my older cousins.  Why?  Because he was allowed!  And guess what… I was smart enough to keep my feet on the ground.  However, everytime he passed us over head, you faintly heard a little boy screaming, much like a girl… and various phrases like “…. get me off….”, “…. I feel like a dork….” Funniest trip ever.
P.S. Brandon didn’t like the swings either.  Though there was no screaming.  Just white knuckled indentations of where his hands gripped the sides of the seat.  He wasn’t scared, and he didn’t cry to get off.  He just sat far (too far) back in the seat and he felt as if he was falling.  He handled it like a man and simply said he wouldn’t ride those again.  Ever.
P.P.S These Images were taken by my Sony Ericsson phone.  I was quite impressed.  Maybe the numerous drops and smashes have made the camera quality better. ;-)

My babies on the Ferris Wheel by themselves.  Almost a sniffle moment.  Of course, it wasn’t just hours previous Brandon got done watching a Sponge Bob cartoon of Patrick actually jumping/swinging the cart on the ferris wheel.  Thoughts of Brandon doing the same drifted in the back of my mind.  He was good.
This weekend I’m not entirely sure what the plans are.  Maybe some movies, maybe some swimming, who knows?  I know Gary said he wanted steaks on Sunday.  I just know it’ll be family.  It will be filled.  And it will be fun.

14JunI smell of Chlorine

Today we ventured back to the pool.  This time I goto go swimming and enjoyed the boys.  They liked hanging out with me in the deeper parts of the pool, literally hanging on me, so they wouldn’t drown.  They’re not the greatest of swimmers yet.  But they’re not afriad to get in there an swim around.  Even at the deeper parts.  Brandon wanted to jump off the diving board.  It’s 11 ft, and I promptly said NO.  He’s not a good enough swimmer yet to do that.  He’d never make it back to the ladder.  I can do it, but I wouldn’t be able to go out there and get him too.  Let’s get them swimming first, then we’ll see.

Here is a rainbow that was visible Saturday afternoon.  Brandon asked if we could go get to it.  I said, I don’t think so…

12JunTuesday and then some

Tuesday I took B to the pool. We had such a fun time. Gary and Liam went golfing and, I don’t golf. So I gave B the options of Movies or pool. He chose Pool. And to my surprise, it wasn’t _That_ expensive. Cheaper than the movies and it lasts longer. :)

While there, I saw some really cute swimming suits and I told Gary that I needed to go suit shopping. He didn’t have a problem with it and the other day I found one that’s red/black/white tankini with a skirtlike bottom. When I put it on Gary said he liked it. The boys: well, they both gasped and said “Mom, that suit looks Awesome on you. I LIKE IT.” It was flattering.

Saturday’s burn didn’t last. In fact, I’m pretty tan. I’m also finishing up my package at the tanning place. My legs are getting pretty dark. Hopefully the rain will stop by this weekend so we can get some more sun. We might even have to go back to the pool ;-)

06JunAloe Vera is my friend

I got a little (much) sun today. I’m hoping I’ve gotten a good enough base from tanning down that this won’t last. It doesn’t hurt. I’m just overall hot. I want to go take a cold shower and just soak.

Today has been grand. We spent the majority of the day outside, till I noticed a sudden storm brewing. Then we came in, as I knew I’d already crispyfied. We stayed in for a few hours, watching movies, dinner and then the boys and I went out again.

I read in the local paper the other day that there’s gross people literally in my back yard enticing kids to their cars. So I’m keeping an extra, extra close eye on the boys. And the boys understand not to talk to strangers/in cars/accept candy, etc. Liam said one day, coming home from school, he and the baby sitter’s daughter were approached by a guy giving candy. That’s just freakin’ scary! So we’re doing a very strong Stranger Danger prevention so the kids are aware of what not to do. And thankfully, the kids have been abiding by my little more stricter rules.

Tomorrow, we’re planning on going to see Night At the Museum 2 and going out to dinner with the in-law’s! What a fun filled weekend.
